About Baku

Baku is Azerbaijan’s largest city and its main energy and transport hub, positioned on the western shore of the Caspian Sea.

The city combines a historic core with modern districts along a waterfront promenade known as Baku Boulevard.

The Inner City (İçərişəhər) preserves medieval architecture while nearby, the continuous flames at Yanar Dağ illustrate the region’s natural gas phenomena. Heydar Aliyev International Airport connects Baku internationally, and the city’s harbor is the best on the Caspian Sea.
